Thanks to all for your kind support to make the 6/9 Photo Nite event successful.
Would anyone like to help build the next Photo NItes, and Photo Biz at BIZ NITES even bigger and better? We're putting together a new team of volunteers to do this - please let us know if you're willing and available by posting on here, or by mailing me at info@tigermusic.jp
It'd be great to have your help:
1) Promoting - getting more people to come to the events and join our online groups
2) Booking presenters who are interesting creative people, and who can help us attract an audience. Any nationalities are fine, but for 6/23 an Italian connection, and for 7/14 a French connection would be particularly interesting.
For 6/23 I'd appreciate your help to find more presenters for the "now booking" topics...
Thanks
Jon

Could you possibly volunteer some of your time each month to help the events improve and grow? You'd be sure to meet some interesting people and get some opportunities to directly influence Japan's creative culture...
1) Promoting - getting more people to come to the events and join our online groups... Any ideas?
2) Assisting with planning and on-day operation... Could you help work the Xchange booth and noticeboard, door/registration, become a leader of a biz group, coordinate simultaneous interpreters, film or shoot the events, assist our online activities?
3) Booking presenters who are interesting creative people, and who can help us attract an audience. Any nationalities are fine, but for 6/23 an Italian connection, and for 7/14 a French connection would be particularly interesting.
We probably need about 20 or more new volunteers so we can give each person a very specific task related to their skills and interests. If you contact me please tell me roughly what your skills and interests are ...
Probably we'll then meet for lunch or a coffee to brainstorm next steps, and assign a coordinator for you to work with based on matching schedules and areas of operation.
We'll keep in touch via online project management groupware website, emails, phone and possibly regular all-group meetings at various times if you have time to join those. You could also choose to work at home or at our office which has hotdesks, PCs and phones...etc. Or you could just a general simple job on event days only, such as door reception, interpreting or helping members to meet each other.
On event days ideally we'd like you to join from around 4pm at Roppongi 57, but anytime in the evening is helpful as we can work shifts, and if your job involves promotion or helping book speakers, there's no need to attend every event anyway... Also you can work only certain periods in the year as you wish..
Thanks again for considering helping us build up Tokyo's A-Z of creative communites...
well if i knew you need volunteers i would have offered my services before.
just let me know as soon as you can about the events so i can ask my day off at work or see what i can do if i can make it.
(be welcome to use my skills for the benefits of the group)
you can write me directly to
akisakai@gmail.com
That's great to hear - thank you very much. We're now working on how to divide up the many things to do into discrete tasks with guidelines so volunteers can take charge of tasks effectively...
I'll be contacting you to hear more about how you might be able to help us... (Languages, skills, people networks...etc)
Cheers
Jon
